Rachel
Owner, Trainer, Walker
Rachel has always been an animal lover, and in 2019 decided to take the plunge in a career change.
She completed her diploma in Animal Management at Merrist Wood College with Distinction. This meant she has built on her experience with small animals, as well as more exotic species such as reptiles and birds.
Between 2020 and 2022, she has gained a foundation degree in Companion Animal Behaviour with Kingston University with Merit. During her time gaining her degree, Rachel was able to increase her knowledge of both canine and feline behaviour, allowing her to confidently and successfully create training plans for both species, as well as advise clients the best methods to achieve the results they desire.
Rachel volunteered with Dogs Walk This Way Rescue, a non-profit organisation that helps rehome and rehabilitate dogs from Romania, Bahrain and the UK. She was a part of the training team, offering 1-2-1 sessions to the adopters, as well as volunteering at the kennels in Longcross. This means Rachel understands our beloved 'Rommies' and the quirks and difficulties that can come with adopting a rescue dog. Because of this experience, we are able to accept reactive and nervous dogs, catering for their needs with solo walks or introducing them to other dogs slowly and safely.
Rachel has also assisted with puppy and adolescent training classes with Companion Coach. If you are interested in group classes, this may be the best route for you.
Rachel gained experience with another dog walking company during her training, and parted ways upon completing her degree. This was a great partnership, and allowed for Rachel to learn how best to manage and run her own business. She remains in contact with the company, and each pass recommendations to eachother. If we can't help with your enquiry, we may be able to point you in the right direction with someone who can.
Dobby
Dobby is Rachel's own dog, and will often accompany her on many of her walks. He is a 10 year old mixed breed Chihuahua, Pomeranian and Shih tzu (mostly, we had him DNA tested!)
Rachel often introduces new clients to Dobby first, who then helps the nervous or anxious dogs gain confidence in being around other dogs.
Chances are you will meet Dobby at some point!
